Description
Cheeseburger Egg Rolls combine the flavors of a classic cheeseburger with the crispy texture of fried egg rolls. Packed with seasoned ground beef, gooey melted cheese, and tangy pickles, these are a delightful twist on traditional egg rolls, perfect as appetizers or party snacks.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup chopped pickles (optional)
- 12 egg roll wrappers
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: dipping sauce (e.g., ketchup, mustard, or ranch)
Instructions
- Cook the Beef Filling: In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and pickles (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
- Assemble the Egg Rolls: Lay an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface with one corner pointing towards you (diamond shape).
- Place 2-3 tablespoons of the beef mixture in the center. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides. Roll tightly, sealing the edge with a bit of water. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
- Fry the Egg Rolls: Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the egg rolls in batches, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy (about 2-3 minutes per side).
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve and Enjoy: Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
For a healthier alternative, bake the egg rolls in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
