- For the Beef Mixture:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
For the Creamy Sauce:
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- ½ cup milk
- ½ cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon flour (for thickening)
For Garnish:
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Extra Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Add the bowtie pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
Drain and set aside, reserving ½ cup of pasta water.
Step 2: Brown the Beef
In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat.
Add the chopped onions and sauté until soft (about 2-3 minutes).
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
Season with salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, paprika, and red pepper flakes.
Drain any excess grease and set the beef aside.
Step 3: Prepare the Creamy Sauce
In the same skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
Stir in 1 tablespoon of flour and cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Slowly pour in the beef broth, whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
Add the heavy cream, milk, Worcestershire sauce, and tomato paste.
Let the mixture simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 4: Combine the Pasta and Beef
Add the cooked beef back into the skillet and stir to combine with the sauce.
Gradually mix in the Parmesan and mozzarella cheese, allowing them to melt into the sauce.
Add the cooked pasta and stir everything together until well coated.
If needed, add a splash of reserved pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency.
Step 5: Serve and Garnish
Remove from heat and let it sit for a minute.
Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and extra Parmesan cheese.
Serve hot and enjoy!
