Basic Ingredients:
- 12 oz (340g) pasta (penne, fettuccine, or spaghetti)
- 1 package (5.2 oz) Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs Cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a bit of heat)
- 1/2 cup pasta water (reserved from cooking pasta)
Optional Add-ins:
- 1 cup cooked chicken, shrimp, or bacon
- 1 cup sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or cherry tomatoes
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley or basil for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
- Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
- Drain the pasta and set it aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Sauce
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and stir well.
- Crumble the Boursin cheese into the sauce and stir until melted.
- Add the grated Parmesan cheese and mix until combined.
Step 3: Combine Pasta and Sauce
- Reduce the heat to low and add the cooked pasta to the sauce.
- Pour in the reserved pasta water gradually, stirring until the sauce reaches the desired consistency.
- Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Step 4: Add Optional Ingredients
- If adding cooked protein (chicken, shrimp, or bacon), stir it in now.
- For veggies, mix in spinach, mushrooms, or cherry tomatoes and cook for another 2 minutes.
Step 5: Serve and Garnish
- Transfer the creamy Boursin pasta to serving plates.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or basil.
- Sprinkle extra Parmesan cheese on top if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
