Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) kielbasa sausage, sliced
- 4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups (720ml) chicken broth
- 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the Kielbasa: In a large pot over medium heat, cook the sliced kielbasa until lightly browned. Remove from the pot and set aside.
- Sauté Aromatics: In the same pot, melt the butter. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until fragrant and softened.
- Prepare the Base: Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux. Gradually whisk in the chicken broth until smooth.
- Add Potatoes and Simmer: Add the diced potatoes to the pot. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
- Add Cream and Kielbasa: Stir in the heavy cream, smoked paprika (if using), and the cooked kielbasa. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
