Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
- Start by cutting the chicken into bite-sized pieces. Aim for uniform chunks, roughly 1 to 1.5 inches each, to ensure even cooking. Pat them dry with paper towels.
- Tip: Thighs can be used instead of breasts for juicier results.
Step 2: Season the Chicken
- In a large mixing bowl, season the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Mix well so every piece is evenly coated.
Step 3: Set Up the Breading Station
Prepare three bowls:
- Bowl 1: Add flour
- Bowl 2: Beat the eggs with 1 tablespoon of milk
- Bowl 3: Place breadcrumbs
- Dredge each chicken piece first in flour (shake off excess), then dip into egg mixture, and finally coat in breadcrumbs. Press gently to help the crumbs stick.
Step 4: Fry the Chicken Nuggets
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.
- Fry the nuggets in batches, turning occasionally, for 4–5 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Tip: Don’t overcrowd the pan. This lowers the oil temperature and makes the nuggets greasy.
Step 5: Drain and Serve
- Remove nuggets and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces like ketchup, honey mustard, or ranch.
