Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven & Prep the Beans
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Wash and trim the ends of the green beans. Pat them dry thoroughly (this helps them crisp up).
Step 2: Season the Green Beans
- In a large bowl, toss the beans with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
Step 3: Arrange on Baking Sheet
- Spread the beans in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet (crowding causes steaming, not crisping).
Step 4: Roast to Perfection
- Roast for 15-20 minutes, tossing halfway, until tender and slightly charred.
Step 5: Add Parmesan & Finish
- Sprinkle Parmesan cheese evenly over the beans and roast for 2-3 more minutes until melted and golden.
Optional: Garnish with lemon zest for a fresh kick.
