Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven & Prep the Beans

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Wash and trim the ends of the green beans. Pat them dry thoroughly (this helps them crisp up).

Step 2: Season the Green Beans

  1. In a large bowl, toss the beans with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).

Step 3: Arrange on Baking Sheet

  1. Spread the beans in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet (crowding causes steaming, not crisping).

Step 4: Roast to Perfection

  1. Roast for 15-20 minutes, tossing halfway, until tender and slightly charred.

Step 5: Add Parmesan & Finish

  1. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese evenly over the beans and roast for 2-3 more minutes until melted and golden.
