Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or 6 chicken thighs)
- 1 packet Italian dressing seasoning mix
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup (optional, for extra creaminess)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup white wine (or substitute with chicken broth)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley (for garnish)
For Serving:
- 12 oz angel hair pasta, cooked according to package instructions
- Parmesan cheese, grated (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Slow Cooker
Spray the inside of your crockpot with nonstick cooking spray or lightly grease it with butter to prevent sticking.
Step 2: Arrange the Chicken
Place the boneless, skinless chicken breasts at the bottom of the slow cooker in a single layer.
Step 3: Prepare the Sauce
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the Italian dressing seasoning mix, cream of mushroom soup, cream cheese, melted butter, white wine (or chicken broth), garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Step 4: Pour Over the Chicken
Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the chicken in the crockpot, ensuring each piece is well coated.
Step 5: Cook the Chicken
Cover the crockpot with a lid and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
Step 6: Cook the Pasta
About 20 minutes before the chicken is done, bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the angel hair pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Step 7: Shred the Chicken & Serve
Once the chicken is fully cooked, use tongs to shred it slightly in the crockpot, allowing it to absorb more of the creamy sauce. Serve the chicken and sauce over the cooked angel hair pasta. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and dried parsley for extra flavor.
