  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Optional Additions:

  • Sliced mushrooms
  • Chopped bell peppers
  • Cooked sausage or bacon
  • Black olives
  • Red pepper flakes for spice

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Bread

  • Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
  • Sprinkle garlic powder and Parmesan cheese on the buttered side for extra flavor.

Step 2: Assemble the Sandwich

  • Place one slice of bread butter-side-down on a plate.
  • Spread pizza sauce evenly over the unbuttered side.
  • Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  • Add pepperoni slices (or other toppings).
  • Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  • Place the second bread slice on top, buttered side facing up.

Step 3: Cook the Sandwich

  • Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat.
  • Carefully place the sandwich in the pan.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  • Flip gently using a spatula and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.
