Description
Alice Springs Chicken is a delicious, comforting dish featuring tender chicken breasts topped with crispy bacon, melted cheese, and a tangy honey mustard sauce. Easy to make and full of flavor, it’s perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special meal!
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 strips of bacon
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup honey mustard sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare the chicken
Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the chicken breasts on a cutting board and season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Step 2: Cook the bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until it’s crispy. Once cooked, remove the bacon and place it on a paper towel to drain excess fat. When cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces.
- Step 3: Sear the chicken
Heat the olive oil in the same skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and sear each side for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. This step helps lock in the juices and flavor.
- Step 4: Assemble the chicken
Transfer the seared chicken breasts to a baking dish. Drizzle each piece with honey mustard sauce, then sprinkle with both shredded Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheese. Top with the crumbled bacon.
- Step 5: Bake the chicken
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
