- 8 breakfast sausage links (pork or turkey)
- 1 tablespoon butter (optional)
- 1 large egg (for egg wash)
- Shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or pepper jack – optional)
- Maple syrup or honey mustard (for dipping – optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Sausages
Pre-cook the sausage links in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked (usually about 5-7 minutes). Let them cool slightly before wrapping.
Step 2: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Step 3: Prepare the Dough
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles. If using homemade dough, roll it into a large rectangle and cut into strips or triangles.
Step 4: Wrap the Sausages
Place one sausage on the wide end of each dough triangle. Add a sprinkle of cheese if desired. Roll the dough around the sausage, starting at the wide end and finishing at the point.
Step 5: Brush and Bake
Place the wrapped sausages seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown and puffy.
