Instructions
Step 1: Prep the Cabbage
- Remove any loose or wilted outer leaves from the cabbage.
- Cut off the stem end slightly to stabilize it, but keep the core intact so the slices hold together.
- Slice the cabbage into 1 to 1.5-inch thick rounds (you should get about 4–6 steaks depending on the size).
Step 2: Preheat and Prepare the Grill
- Heat your grill to medium-high (around 375–400°F / 190–200°C).
- Lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.
Step 3: Season the Steaks
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Brush both sides of each cabbage steak generously with the mixture.
Step 4: Grill the Cabbage
- Place cabbage steaks directly on the grill grates.
- Grill for 5–7 minutes on each side, or until nicely charred and tender.
- If you prefer a softer texture, cover them with foil as they grill.
Step 5: Garnish and Serve
- Once done, transfer to a serving platter.
- Drizzle with lemon juice or balsamic glaze.
- Sprinkle with herbs, cheese, or your favorite toppings.
