Easy Hoisin Beef Noodles – Quick & Flavorful Stir-Fry Recipe

For the Beef Marinade:

  • 1 lb (450g) beef (sirloin, flank steak, or ribeye), thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp ginger powder

For the Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • 1 tbsp water

For the Noodles & Vegetables:

  • 8 oz (225g) noodles (lo mein, egg noodles, or spaghetti)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1/2 cup snap peas or snow peas
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds for garnish
  • Fresh cilantro or basil (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Beef

  1. Slice the beef thinly against the grain for a tender texture.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, garlic powder, and ginger powder.
  3. Toss the beef slices in the marinade and let it sit for at least 15-20 minutes.

Step 2: Cook the Noodles

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the noodles according to package instructions.
  2. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop cooking, then set aside.
  3. Step 3: Make the Sauce
  4. In a small bowl, mix hoisin sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, honey, crushed red pepper flakes, and water.
  5. Stir until well combined and set aside.

Step 4: Stir-Fry the Beef

  1. Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned.
  3. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

Step 5: Cook the Vegetables

  1. Add another tablespoon of oil to the wok.
  2. Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the bell pepper, carrot, and snap peas, stir-frying for 2-3 minutes.

Step 6: Combine Everything

  1. Return the cooked beef to the wok.
  2. Pour the prepared sauce over the mixture and toss to coat everything evenly.
  3. Add the cooked noodles and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until everything is well combined and heated through.
