- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Stir and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter, egg, salt, and 2 cups of flour. Stir until combined.
- Gradually add the remaining flour, mixing until the dough comes together.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
Step 2: Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 3: Roll Out the Dough
- Punch down the risen dough and transfer it to a floured surface.
- Roll it out into a large rectangle, about 1/4-inch thick.
Step 4: Add the Filling
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the dough.
- Layer the pepperoni slices on top.
- Sprinkle garlic powder and Italian seasoning for extra flavor.
Step 5: Roll and Cut the Dough
- Starting from the long side, roll the dough tightly into a log.
- Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to slice it into 12 even pieces.
Step 6: Bake the Rolls
- Arrange the rolls on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush them with melted butter mixed with garlic powder.
- Bake for 18-22 minutes until golden brown.
Step 7: Serve and Enjoy
- Remove from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.
