- ¼ cup honey
- 3 tbsp Sriracha sauce (adjust to spice preference)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger (optional but recommended)
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)
For Garnishing:
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Extra Sriracha (if desired)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
- Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
- In a bowl, toss the chicken pieces with cornstarch, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
Step 2: Cook the Chicken
- Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken pieces in a single layer and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
Step 3: Make the Honey Sriracha Sauce
- In a bowl, whisk together honey, Sriracha, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
- Pour the sauce into the same pan used for the chicken.
- Cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
Step 4: Coat the Chicken in the Sauce
- Return the cooked chicken to the pan and toss it in the sauce until fully coated.
- Let it cook for another 2 minutes so the flavors absorb.
Step 5: Garnish and Serve
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
- Serve hot with rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables.
