Ingredients
For the Base:
- 4 medium flour tortillas
- 1 cup refried beans (canned or homemade)
- 1 cup cooked ground beef (seasoned with taco spices)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
For the Toppings:
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1/4 cup sour cream (optional)
- 1/4 cup salsa (optional)
- 1/4 cup guacamole (optional)
For the Taco Seasoning (if making from scratch):
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures your pizza bakes evenly and gets that perfect crispy texture.
Place two tortillas on a baking sheet. Spread a thin layer of refried beans evenly over each tortilla.
Sprinkle the seasoned ground beef evenly over the refried beans. Make sure to distribute it well for every bite to be flavorful.
Top the ground beef with a generous layer of shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
Place the remaining two tortillas on top of the cheese layer to create a “sandwich.” Press gently to secure.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges are golden brown.
Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for 2-3 minutes. Top with diced tomatoes, black olives, green onions, and cilantro. Add dollops of sour cream, salsa, or guacamole if desired.
Cut the Mexican Pizza into wedges and serve immediately while warm.
