- 1.5 lbs steak (ribeye, sirloin, or filet mignon) – cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tbsp olive oil – for searing the steak
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter – for the garlic butter sauce
- 4 cloves garlic – minced
- 1 tsp salt – or to taste
- 1/2 tsp black pepper – for seasoning
- 1/2 tsp paprika – optional, for added flavor
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes – for a touch of heat (optional)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley – chopped, for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Steak
- Start by patting the steak dry with paper towels. This helps to achieve a perfect sear.
- Cut the steak into bite-sized cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.
- Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika, then toss to coat evenly.
Step 2: Heat the Skillet
- Heat a large skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat.
- Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and let it heat until shimmering.
Step 3: Sear the Steak Bites
- Add the steak bites to the hot skillet in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the pan.
- Sear for 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip with tongs and cook for another 2 minutes until browned.
- Remove the steak bites from the pan and set them aside.
Step 4: Make the Garlic Butter Sauce
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the butter to the skillet.
- Once melted, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes.
- Sauté for 30-60 seconds until fragrant, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
Step 5: Coat the Steak Bites in Garlic Butter
- Return the cooked steak bites to the skillet and toss them in the garlic butter sauce.
- Cook for another 1-2 minutes, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley.
