Homemade Peanut Butter Dog Treats – Easy & Healthy Recipe

  • Author: Skyar
  • Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup natural peanut butter (unsweetened, xylitol-free)
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour for a grain-free option)
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats (optional for extra texture)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce or mashed banana
  • 1/4 cup chicken or beef broth (low sodium)
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine peanut butter, applesauce (or banana), and the egg. Mix well until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the flour and rolled oats, stirring to incorporate. Slowly pour in the broth while mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes.
  5. Place the cut-out treats on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. Let the treats cool completely on a wire rack before serving to your pup. Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.
