Ingredients
For the Salmon Bites:
- 1 lb (450g) salmon fillet, skin removed and cut into bite-sized cubes
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder
For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Salmon
Pat the salmon pieces dry with a paper towel. Season them with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder for an extra depth of flavor.
Step 2: Cook the Salmon
Heat a large pan over medium-high heat. Add olive oil or butter and let it melt. Arrange the salmon bites in a single layer and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Step 3: Make the Honey Garlic Sauce
In the same pan, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes.
Step 4: Thicken the Sauce
Mix cornstarch with water and pour it into the sauce. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
Step 5: Coat the Salmon in Sauce
Return the salmon bites to the pan and gently toss to coat them in the sticky honey garlic sauce. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until fully glazed.
