Ingredients
For the Pizza Dough:

- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 ¼ cups warm water (110°F)
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt

For the Hot Honey:
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1–2 tbsp chili flakes
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until it becomes frothy. Stir in salt and olive oil. Gradually add the flour and mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Transfer it to a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Step 2: Make the Sauce
While the dough rises, heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes, then set aside to cool.
Step 3: Prepare the Hot Honey
In a small saucepan, warm the honey over low heat. Stir in chili flakes and let it infuse for 5–10 minutes. Add apple cider vinegar if desired for tanginess. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 4: Preheat and Shape
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it heats. Roll out the dough into a 12-inch circle. Place on a floured pizza peel or parchment-lined baking sheet.
Step 5: Assemble and Bake
Spread a layer of pizza sauce over the dough. Add mozzarella, onions, and pepperoni or salami. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly. Drizzle generously with hot honey after removing from the oven and garnish with fresh basil.
