Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) ground turkey (preferably 93% lean)
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (or almond flour for gluten-free)
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- Burger buns (whole wheat or regular)
- Toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, pickles, avocado, etc.
- Condiments: ketchup, mayo, mustard, or burger sauce
Instructions
Step 1: Combine the Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, grated onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, paprika, salt, pepper, olive oil, and parsley (if using). Mix gently with your hands or a fork until just combined. Be careful not to overmix—it can lead to tough burgers.
Step 2: Shape the Patties
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and gently form into patties about 3/4 inch thick. Place the patties on a parchment-lined tray. Use your thumb to make a small indentation in the center of each patty this helps them cook evenly and prevents puffing.
Step 3: Preheat the Grill or Pan
Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat, or preheat your outdoor grill to medium heat. Lightly oil the cooking surface to prevent sticking.
Step 4: Cook the Burgers
Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for 5-6 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Avoid pressing down on the burgers as they cook to retain the juices.
Step 5: Assemble and Serve
Toast the burger buns if desired. Assemble your burgers with your favorite toppings and condiments. Serve hot and enjoy every bite!
