Omelette Recipe

  • Author: Skyar
  • Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • Eggs: 2 large eggs (you can adjust the quantity based on servings)
  • Butter: 1 tablespoon (for greasing the pan and adding richness)
  • Salt: A pinch (to taste)
  • Pepper: A pinch (to taste)
  • Cheese: 2 tablespoons (shredded, optional, cheddar, mozzarella, or any preferred cheese)
  • Fillings: (optional) 1/4 cup each of your favorite fillings, such as:

Chopped onions

Bell peppers

Spinach

Mushrooms

Ham

Bacon

Fresh herbs (chives, parsley, etc.)

Note: You can adjust the fillings according to your preference. The beauty of an omelette is that it can be tailored to suit any taste!

Instructions

Step 1: Crack and Whisk the Eggs

Start by cracking the eggs into a bowl. Using a whisk or fork, beat them thoroughly until the yolks and whites are fully combined. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste. Whisk for about 30 seconds to make the eggs smooth and light.

Step 2: Heat the Pan

Place your non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the butter and let it melt completely, ensuring it coats the bottom of the pan. The butter should sizzle but not burn—if it does, lower the heat.

Step 3: Pour in the Eggs

Once the butter has melted and the pan is hot, pour the beaten eggs into the pan. Tilt the pan slightly to make sure the eggs spread evenly across the bottom. Allow the eggs to cook undisturbed for about 1 to 2 minutes, or until the edges begin to set.

Step 4: Add the Fillings

If you’re using fillings, add them on one side of the omelette after the edges have set but the center is still slightly runny. Add your choice of fillings, such as vegetables, cheese, or meats. Let the omelette cook for another minute or two until the fillings are warm.

Step 5: Fold and Serve

Using a spatula, carefully fold the omelette in half over the fillings. Slide the omelette onto a plate and serve immediately while it’s warm. Enjoy your perfect, fluffy omelette!
