Ingredients
- 4 cups (1 liter) of filtered water
- 4 green tea bags (or 2 tbsp loose-leaf green tea)
- Ice cubes
- 1–2 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
- Lemon slices or fresh mint leaves (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Boil the Water
Bring 4 cups of filtered water to a gentle boil (around 175°F or 80°C). Avoid boiling water as it can make the tea taste bitter.
Step 2: Steep the Green Tea
Place tea bags or loose-leaf tea in a heatproof pitcher. Pour hot water over the tea and let it steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on your preferred strength.
Step 3: Remove the Tea Bags
Take out the tea bags or strain the loose leaves. If you prefer a milder taste, steep for a shorter time.
Step 4: Sweeten the Tea (Optional)
If you like sweet tea, stir in honey, maple syrup, or agave while the tea is still warm.
Step 5: Chill the Tea
Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours for a refreshing iced tea.
Step 6: Serve Over Ice
Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the chilled tea over it. Garnish with lemon slices, fresh mint, or a drizzle of honey.
