For the Seasoned Beef:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 packet (or 2 tbsp) taco seasoning
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • Salt & pepper to taste

For the Seasoned Rice:

  • 1 cup white rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp taco seasoning

For the Burrito Assembly:

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • ½ cup nacho cheese sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup taco sauce (optional)
  • ½ cup refried beans (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Seasoned Beef

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef.
  2. Cook for 5–7 minutes, breaking up the meat with a spatula, until browned.
  3. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  4. Add the water, taco seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. Let the beef simmer for 5 minutes until the flavors are well blended. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Seasoned Rice

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Add rice, butter, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, cumin, and taco seasoning. Stir well.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15–20 minutes or until rice is tender.
  4. Remove from heat and let it sit for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.

Step 3: Heat the Tortillas

  1. Warm the flour tortillas in a skillet over low heat for 15–20 seconds per side.
  2. Alternatively, microwave them for 10 seconds to make them more pliable.

Step 4: Assemble the Burritos

  1. Lay a warm tortilla flat on a clean surface.
  2. Spread 2 tbsp of nacho cheese sauce in the center.
  3. Add 2 tbsp of refried beans (if using).
  4. Spoon about ¼ cup of the seasoned rice on top.
  5. Add ¼ cup of the seasoned beef.
  6. Drizzle with 1 tbsp of taco sauce (optional).
  7. Add 1 tbsp of sour cream and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.

Step 5: Wrap the Burrito

  1. Fold in the sides of the tortilla towards the center.
  2. Roll the burrito tightly from the bottom up, securing all the fillings inside.
  3. Place seam-side down and repeat with the remaining tortillas.
